Ok, I've been following a lot of threads about our AP2.5 problem, and for some of the people that still don't know what's happening or what's all the things being said here, let me resume a little some important items.
1. The AP2.5 or Anti Piracy 2.5 Protection is a new app included on the new games (regardless of wave) so they can detect modded, flashed and/or spoofed (changed original DVD drive for another) consoles, flag them and when going online it will inform M$ and they'll get banned and these new AP2.5 games will not work on the console (probably older games too) Only two games with ths AP2.5 known so far are Fable III and Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood (AC: Update: Need For Speed Hot Pursuit is also AP2.5
2. FW or Firmware, is the User Interface that we see when our dashboard is shown (where you can see your avatar, achievements, your music/games/pictures library, and the setup for the console). Most of us still have the "old" FW, the "new" one is the Kinect one, it was launched at the first days of November (the 4th I think), and to get it, you need to either go online and upgrade or install it using AC:B which has the update on the disc itself and will prompt you to install it.
3. As long as we don't play the AP2.5 games AND upgrade to the new FW we won't get flagged and eventually banned. However, playing AP2.5 games on the old FW seems to work (since I don't have Fable III or AC:B, can't confirm this myself), and as long as you don't go online, there shouldn't be any problem.
4. IF we DID upgrade to the new FW (Kinect one) we're safe as long as we don't play AP2.5 games. If you did don't even think about going online either.
5. LT and LT+, I actually don't know what LT stands for (sorry), but what this does is make all of us really happy, since is what allows us to play backup games. The LT is what currently everyone reading this thread have on their system, now with the new AP2.5, the current LT is obsolete, that's why the new LT+ is being developed, there isn't a precise ETA, it's expected before Christmas, because that's the ETA its creator has given us. So, no AP2.5 games for us until it is released, so, don't push it.
5. Now, C4EVA. He's simply THE MAN. Period. This guy, from what I've been reading, is a master. He's the one we owe the original LT and the one working his fingertips off to give us the new LT+, to make us happier, to let us play AP2.5 games on the old/new FW, without worries about getting flagged/banned. THANK YOU SIR, VERY, VERY MUCH.
6. However, as with every rule, there is (are) exception(s). There are 4 DVD drives used on our XBOX360: LiteOn, Benq, Hitachi and Samsung (if there are more, please add it and don't kill me, please). On some old Hitachis and all (it is believed) Samsungs the AP2.5 protection doesn't work, why? Because these drives aren't physically capable of doing it, they lack "something" that won't let them do the "search and destroy" thingy and those drives will play AP2.5 games normally, on any FW. Let's just say the AP2.5 speaks Chinese and those guys never learned the language, so, they won't know they have to do whatever the AP2.5 protection tells the drives to do.
7. If you have a modded/flashed XBOX360 and own the ORIGINAL (ie paid for it on a store, online) AP2.5 game (Fable III, AC:B, more to come) and go online, update the FW, you won't get flagged/banned, because the disc you have is the ORIGINAL, not a backup copy, so the AP2.5 Protection will give it a Green Light, since is the ORIGINAL.
8. If you don't care about going online, because you don't want to, or because you're already banned, then you won't be able to play the AP2.5 on the new FW games until the LT+ is released. Fable III works ok with the old FW, but AC:B does not, it makes you update to the new FW or it won't boot, and when you update the FW, it will simply say that the disc is unreadable, no more information about other games, since until now no other AP2.5 game has been detected. So, WAIT FOR THE LT+
Čia viskas puikai parašyta, tik patiems išsiversti tereikia.
