Think of them as mini-documentaries of a sort. Could it be Rock vs Austin? Undertaker vs Kane? 2K hasn't spilled the beans just yet, but rest assured we'll be the first to know, and when we do, so will you. If the excellent 30 Years of Wrestlemania was any indication, though, the authenticity of the presentation will make these rivalries a treat to play through. In addition to reliving these golden WWE memories, you'll finally have a true, discreet career mode for your created wrestlers in MyCareer. This mode has been lifted from NBA 2K14 and adapted to the WWE environment. While I didn't think the mode had the right synergy with the NBA, the WWE seems like a logical place to apply it. Imagine replacing all those cheese-ball, amateur hour characters and cutscenes with authentically voiced and mo-capped WWE Superstars. You get the picture. Exact details of the mode are still forthcoming, but we do know that it will be on the current-gen version only. Sorry, 360/PS3 stalwarts. No matter what version you play, though, you'll get to enjoy the fruits of Visual Concepts' involvement. Over 50 days worth of motion capture sessions went on at 2K's state-of-the-art mo-cap facility, where WWE Superstars spent hours getting their signature moves digitally recreated. All told, WWE 2K15 features five times (FIVE TIMES! FIVE TIMES!) the animation data of 2K14. Thankfully, just as much effort has gone into improving the way the game sounds, the color commentary in particular. Over four times as many lines were recorded this time around, which should go a long way towards spicing up what has consistently been one of the franchise's presentational low points. Kaip ir patvirtinta...Sting is in! It is now all but official that Sting will be WWE 2K15′s pre-order bonus and marketed ‘legend’ selling point. The Figure Four Newsletter confirms this news, noting that Sting will follow in the role previously occupied by Brock Lesnar, Mike Tyson and most recently The Ultimate Warrior. The ‘WWE Sting promo‘ video being cast for last week was indeed the WWE 2K15 video game commercials. This will feature numerous actors dressed as Sting in some sort of orchestra, acting on the connotations of his enigmatic personality. 2K15′s Sting deal and the promo video are separate from the WWE. This is a relationship between Steve Borden and 2K games, with the video game company employing an agency to shoot the Sting promo. However, like the Ultimate Warrior in 2014, Sting’s involvement with 2K is expected to prelude a deal with the WWE itself. His arrangement with 2K is something that suits WWE, it introduces his character back into the WWE universe, it prepares him for coming back to television at some point. The WWE currently have their own deal on the table to Sting, with the WCW icon expected to sign at some point before WrestleMania 31. This 2K legend marketing proved a very creative and commercial success for the WWE in relation to the Ultimate Warrior, who originally did a deal with 2K14 before signing with WWE and becoming a big star (and merchandise seller) over the Hall of Fame and WrestleMania 30 weekend. Playing as Sting is sure to be a big thrill for gamers and the WWE 2K15 release is scheduled for late October on Xbox and Playstation consoles.

Current gen will also be updated and there's an obvious step up from 14 to this year's game. Textures are better - even small things like the material on clothes has improved - and Daniel Bryan's beard in particular has had a pleasing upgrade...Next-gen, on the other hand, is a different beast entirely. While only shown a John Cena character model, it looks incredible. A small tech demo of Cena's face pulling some expressions almost looks real. You can even see the dimples on his face. 2K has also confirmed that the game's lighting will be reworked.Core gameplay has evolved too, the aim being to try and move away from the idea that the franchise is 'a fighting game with WWE Superstars in it' to a 'wrestling game'.It will have 5x more animations vs any other year to make transitions smoother and to ensure the game plays better - the idle states from before will be eliminated.The ultimate goal is to replicate what you see on WWE TV. While there has been a tendency to aim for a hardcore simulation experience, 2K is aware that not every WWE match plays out in such a fashion. To try and achieve this blend of matches, the development team is using a mo-cap studio with an actual WWE ring. An individual is flown out from WWE to set up the 'squared circled' as they would at an actual show and talent are being used so everything is as close to the in-ring product as possible.All sound effects have been re-recorded for WWE 2K15. For example, if a guy gets backdropped in the game, the backdrop sound has been captured in the aforementioned ring.Commentary has been changed with Michael Cole and Jerry 'The King' Lawyer on announcing duties. Their dialogue was recorded at the same time so it sounds more like they're calling a match instead of canned lines. 30-35 hours of voice have been recorded for each of them with 5x as many lines as there have ever been in a WWE game.WWE 2K15 is out 21 October in North America and 23 October in Europe.
