Team Ninja has announced Ninja Gaiden III behind closed doors at the Tokyo Game Show, with the next instalment in the action series now confirmed to be in development. While it'll come as little surprise that the series will continue it will mark the first game without the involvement of front-man Tomonobu Itagaki, who left developer Team Ninja shortly after the release of Ninja Gaiden II. More recently, Team Ninja worked on the successful reimagining of Samus Aran for Metroid: Other M. Tecmo Koei confirmed to IGN that Ninja Gaiden III does indeed exist but no other details to share and couldn't reveal what platforms the game would be coming to, though Videogamer were in attendance and said the game is set to have a darker tone. Capcom announces “DMC” for PS3 and 360 Capcom has announced DmC Devil May Cry, what appears to be a franchise reboot featuring a young Dante. As has been heavily rumoured, development is in the hands of Heavenly Sword and Enslaved studio Ninja Theory. Capcom says the Devil May Cry DNA remains but has been "injected with a dark and brutal gameplay that promises to redefine the franchise". Set against a contemporary backdrop, DmC will depict a duplicitous world where nothing is ever as it seems and the line between good and evil is constantly blurred. DmC will also retain the series' signature mix of sword and gunplay, but add additional weapons, all new powers and a revitalised gameplay system. The team at Ninja Theory is joined by key staff from Capcom's R&D division. Creative direction for the title will be undertaken by Ninja Theory's Tameen Antionades and overseen by Hedeaki Itsuno, who has worked on all previous titles in the series.
