An AI-controlled Bane will fight alongside Batman in Arkham City, Warner has announced. Bane teams up with Batman during a series of sub missions that involve tracking down shipments of chemical contraband, Go Nintendo reports. Bane is not playable. Bane joins anti-heroine Talia al Ghul on the game's expanding cast. The Joker, The Riddler, Catwoman, Robin, Mr Freeze, Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn, The Penguin, Two Face, Hugo Strange, Victor Zsasz, Calendar Man and Black Mask are all confirmed to appear in some capacity. During a Comic-Con panel developer Rocksteady revealed a new gadget for Batman, a Remote Electrical Charge (REC). It shoots an instant spark that knocks enemies back or electrocutes armour-wearing enemies.

Witcher 2 X360 versija nukeliama i 2012 metus.. The Xbox 360 version of fantasy role-playing game The Witcher 2 has been delayed. It was due out at the end of the year. It will now release at some point during the first quarter of 2012. Developer CD Projekt said the extra time will allow it to "polish the title to perfection", according to a VG247 report. The Witcher 2 on Xbox 360 will be published by THQ in Europe. The PC version was published by Namco Bandai. Last month it emerged that Namco Bandai had entered into a legal dispute with Optimus SA, the parent company of Witcher 2 developer CD Projekt Red. Namco-owned Atari is dealing with the 360 version in the US. Namco is also seeking damages after accusing CD Projekt Red of breaching contract by removing DRM from the PC version of the game. It is thought to be refusing to pay €1.2 million in previously agreed fees to the developer as a consequence of the actions.

Japanese ninja girl Ibuki and giant bear Kuma are playable characters in Street Fighter x Tekken. Street Fighter main man Yoshinori Ono showcased two teaser trailers, below, which confirm Ibuki and Kuma's appearance, at the Evo 2011 fighting game tournament in Las Vegas. Ibuki and Kuma join Ryu, Kazuya, Ken, Nina, Guile, King, Abel, Marduk, Cammy, Bob, Chun-Li, Julia Chang, Sagat, Hwoarang, Dhalsim, Steve Fox, Poison and Yoshimitsu on the playable roster. Previous trailers indicated Hugo, Cody and Guy are playable, too, although these characters remain unconfirmed for now. The PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita versions of the game include inFamous' Cole MacGrath as a bonus playable character.

Elsewhere, the Marvel vs. Capcom 3 tournament saw an upset as tournament favourite Justin Wong managed only third. Blizzard has revealed that Diablo III will allow players to trade in-game items for real money via an officially sanctioned auction house, integrated in the game. The move was revealed to press at a preview event for the game's beta at the company's offices in Irvine, California. It was also confirmed that the game will require an internet connection to play at all times. The auction house, the first of its kind, will be exclusively for player-to-player trading; Blizzard will not sell items through it. The aim, explained executive producer Rob Pardo, is to provide a secure and fun environment for a player-driven economy to develop around the game, which focuses on the acquisition of randomised loot. Blizzard will take a "nominal" flat-rate fee for each listing and sale, and an additional fee if players choose to cash out payments for sold items via a third-party payment provider such as PayPal. There will be separate auction houses for each region and currency. Another separate, but functionally identical auction house will exist for players who wish to trade using in-game gold rather than real currency. Players will be able to trade items, components and game gold on the auction house. Blizzard is considering allowing the sale of game characters, too. Trading via the auction house will be completely anonymous. Players will be allowed a small number of free listings per week to encourage participation in the currency auction house, making it possible to begin trading without making any payments. Once an auction has sold, sellers can choose either to pay the proceeds into their Battle.net account balance, or cash out via the third-party payment provider. There will be one approved partner for payments, but Blizzard did not name the company as the deal has not yet been struck. Money earned from auction sales and paid into a Battle.net account can be spent in the Diablo III auction house, but also at the Blizzard Store on merchandise, games, or services such as World of Warcraft subscriptions and character transfers. Other auction house features include a "smart search" function that finds loot appropriate to your characters, automated bidding and buyout opions. Blizzard said it did not plan to create a similar real money auction house for World of Warcraft, despite the prevalence of unauthorised real money trading around the massively popular MMO. Pardo explained that Blizzard felt the idea did not suit the "prestige system" of WOW's item game, where items are tied to specific achievements and bind to game characters. But it was considered a good fit for the "merchant economy" stimulated by Diablo's randomly created and freely tradable items. By collecting a fixed rather than a percentage fee on auction house sales, Blizzard will have no incentive to manipulate the game design in order to make more money from the auction house, Pardo argued. He also stated that there would be no other charges or micro-transaction costs for playing Diablo III. Pardo further confirmed that the game will only be playable online. This, he said, was due to the deep integration of Battle.net online features and the desire for all player characters to be persistent and able to move seamlessly between solo and co-op play, as well as to prevent cheating and improve security. Other Battle.net features announced for Diablo III included matchmaking for the Versus player-versus-player mode, a public game finder for co-op, immediate drop-in co-op for friends, and a Banner system that displays your achievements and play style to other players. Blizzard also showed a new, radically streamlined skill system for the game, which allows players to freely customise their characters on the fly. The public beta test was revealed to cover the early stages of the game, taking players up to a low-level boss fight with returning foe the Skeleton King at Tristram cathedral. All five character classes will be playable.

A free balance patch for Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition will release by the end of the year, Capcom has announced. The patch will bring the game to Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition version 2012. At a panel at fighting game tournament Evo 2011, Street Fighter producer Yoshinori Ono said location tests for the updated version will be held in major Japanese cities towards the end of the summer. Arcade Edition, which launched on home console earlier this year, came under fire from some fans for upsetting the finely-tuned balance of the character roster. New character Yun in particular is singled out as being overpowered. Many established characters saw nerfs with the release of the game.

Samsung will manufacture the CPU for PlayStation Vita, according to a new report. Japanese industry journal Semiconductor Industry News spilled the beans (via Andriasang). The report said Samsung will use a 45 nanometer manufacturing process to make the Vita CPU chips. There's no supporting evidence, but given Samsung's experience as a system on chip (SOC) maker for the smartphone industry, this seems like a natural fit. PlayStation Vita uses an ARM Cortex A9 core (4 core) CPU. PlayStation Vita has no UK release date nor official price. We expect to hear more at Gamescom in mid-August.

A PC update for 3/10 shooter Duke Nukem Forever will double its weapon inventory from two to four, developer Gearbox has revealed. But there are no immediate plans for console editions to get the patch, a post by Gearbox community manager Chris Faylor explained. Initial Duke developer 3D Realms has previously drawn fire for its decision to limit PC gamers to carrying two guns. Studio boss George Broussard waded in to the debate, telling ShackNews last year it was a decision based on keeping console controls simple. "You cannot discount designing games for a modern world and part of that world is consoles where the bulk of the sales can be. And on those consoles you have a controller. "We tried for a long time to support lots of guns but we simply could not find a nice way to map it to a controller, despite trying 4-5 designs. We gave it enough time and decided to stop swimming against the current and adopt what was basically the 'standard'." The upcoming PC patch also adds Valve Anti-Cheat System (VAC) support, push-to-talk voice chat, the ability to adjust FOV, "plus other fixes and improvements that are still being tested."

Saints Row: The Third pre-orders are pacing well ahead of its predecessor, publisher THQ has announced. CEO Brian Farrell told investors today that pre-orders for the game are currently double what they were for Saints Row 2 at a comparable point in the game's lifecycle. "We think with another couple of weeks we'll surpass the pre-orders for Saint's Row 2 and we're still 15 weeks from launch," he added. Farrell also laid out THQ's ambitious post-launch strategy for the OTT crime epic, stating that it hoped to pull in "20 per cent additional revenue" from digital add-ons. "Saints Row's digital ecosystem will contain the most comprehensive suite of digital content across our portfolio, including a season pass, microstransactions, planned DLC offerings for nearly a year post launch, game add-ons, consumables and an in-game store," he promised. Myths & Mavericks, the final set of DLC for Rockstar Games' lauded western epic Red Dead Redemption, arrives in September. The pack, which will be free to download, includes new "fan-favorite multiplayer characters" and additional locations for a number of the game's multiplayer modes. According to the game's official site, it's intended as a "show of appreciation for the awesome long-term support for the game's multiplayer modes since its release in 2010." In addition to the DLC, a new title update is also planned for around the same time, allowing Undead Overrun players to return to the mode's original settings.
