UPDATE 2: Crysis costs 1600 Microsoft Points on Xbox Live and £15.99/$19.99 on PlayStation Network. Publisher EA describes the console download as a "modified and enhanced" version of the single-player campaign from Crysis 1. It also features optimized Nanosuit controls, fine-tuned combat and full stereoscopic 3D support. UPDATE 1: Crytek boss Cevat Yerli has confirmed that Crysis will launch as a PlayStation Network and Xbox Live title. "For many years people were asking, can you do Crysis 1 on consoles?" he told GameTrailers. "We have been secretly working on that for a while. It's a digital download only. Dead Island launches today with an extensive day-one patch to fix multiple issues.

The patch that enables From Dust to be played offline on PC has been released on Steam. This is applied automatically when a Steam client is restarted. The update, specifically, does two things: Title can be played in offline mode (no connection to the Internet is required after installing the patch) Save file is moved from the Uplay/Ubisoft server to the local machine In other words, this patch removes the anti-piracy DRM element from From Dust. This required PC gamers to verify, online, their copy of From Dust every time they played. Such a requirement punishes laptop gamers on aeroplanes or trains, or those with inconsistent or non-existent internet connections.

Dead Rising 2: Off the Record, Capcom's spin-off from its successful zombie-killing sequel, will halve the load times of its predecessor. The game, due out on October 14 at an as yet unspecified budget price, began life as a Director's Cut, following in a long line of extended and augmented versions of existing games that have become a Capcom staple. Dead Rising 2: Off the Record has been shaped by fan feedback, with the return of the original's Frank West a response to the outcry that met the introduction of the sequel's protagonist, Chuck Greene. Fan feedback has shaped other areas of the game too, with the introduction of a sandbox mode that again harks back to the original. Sandbox mode presents the world of Fortune City - and Off the Record's all new theme park, dubbed the Uranus Zone - in a free-for-all brawler, strung together by a series of free-form challenges. "Really this mode was driven from fan response," Dead Rising 2: Off the Record executive producer Jason Leigh told Eurogamer, "they really wanted Infinity Mode from Dead Rising 1, but rather than that we went for the Terror is Reality multiplayer mode for Dead Rising 2. "This time around we couldn't really ignore the fan feedback - they really want this mode, and frankly it would be fun to come into this world without the restrictions of a story just to explore." One other aspect of Dead Rising 2 that fans were less than happy about were the extended loading times - and as the development team gets more intimate with the technology behind the game they've been able to reduce them dramatically. "We really focused on the load times," said Leigh, "The load times were called out in Dead Rising 2, and this time around they've been halved."

Console versions of Driver: San Francisco see some complimentary new multiplayer content later this month, publisher Ubisoft has announced. As of 15th September, you'll be able to download 12 new routes for all online modes. Following that, there will be one additional new route added every week for the next 10 weeks. A new community site called Driver Club has also just gone live for the Reflections-developed racer. Log in with a Uplay account to unlock exclusive achievements, check your game stats, share director clips and follow your friends' in-game progress. There's no mention of whether the PC version, which isn't out until 30th September, will be supported.
