Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D will sneak onto 3DS on 8th March in Europe, Konami has announced. Snake Eater 3D is an update of PS2 classic Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. The game comes with refreshed visuals and will be the second 3DS game in Europe to support the Circle Pad Pro expansion, which adds an extra slider pad to the handheld. The peripheral launches first with Resident Evil: Revelations on 27th January. Konami has also added a first-person mode and a new over the shoulder camera, both missing from the original, as well as gyroscopic controls for traversing rope bridges. You can even take photos of your surroundings to customise Snake's in-game camouflage. A demo version of the stealth shooter was one of the first games shown for the 3DS at its unveiling at E3 2010. A special snake skin-themed 3DS was teased by Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima earlier this month.

A new patch for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim due before the end of January will tackle the lag problems currently blighting many PlayStation 3 gamers, Bethesda has announced. "We're addressing that in the 1.4 update planned for this month," read a post on the developer's Twitter feed in response to a query as to when the notorious 'Rimlag' issue would be fixed. Last month, Bethesda explained that the development had been working hard to isolate the causes of the problem. "We've been reaching out to a number of those users to collect save games, so we can take a look at their specific issues," read a BethesdaBlog post. "Right now we know it's not one thing, but a combination of smaller ones that some folks are seeing, but others are not. Some seem to be the PS3 autosaving in the background (you can turn that off), some may be SPU AI updates, and some may relate to dynamic system memory allocation."

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, the latest entry in Ubisoft's tactical shooter series has been delayed until 24th May. The game had originally been announced for a March release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, though the development team has decided it needs a little more time. "We're pretty much there. We just want to take that extra couple of months to make sure your experience is perfect," explained the game's development director Adrien Lacey via a YouTube announcement today. Lacey also seized the moment to confirm that a PC version of the game is in the works - despite word to the contrary late last year - and a multiplayer beta will go live on consoles prior to launch.

Įspūdingi skaičiai 11 metų senumo konsolei... Sony sold an impressive 500,000 PlayStation 2 units over the Christmas period, the platform holder has announced. It pointed to "emerging countries and regions such as Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and South America" as the main markets for the decade-old warhorse. Anyone care to hazard a guess at how many new GameCubes or original Xboxes were snapped up over the same period? The PlayStation 3 sold 3.9 million units worldwide between 21st November 2011 and 5th January 2012, while the PSP managed 1.6 million.

A hot-off-the-press release schedule from THQ has revealed the existence of Homefront Ultimate Edition. The publisher has yet to reveal what the release might contain. THQ lists the Ultimate Edition for launch before the end of the financial year - by March 31st. Likely to be included are the two pieces of multiplayer add-on content released thus far - "The Rock" and "Fire Sale" map packs. We're checking with THQ now for the full details. Homefront was released last March to a lukewarm reception but decent sales - enough that Crysis multiplayer developer Crytek UK is now working on a sequel, due "fiscal year 2014".

More than 30 million Wii consoles have been sold across Europe, maker Nintendo has trumpeted. Those numbers were totted the week ending Christmas Day - 25th December 2011. That makes Wii the best selling current generation console in Europe. European PS3 sales have passed 22 million units, Sony told MCV in August 2011. European PS2 sales are apparently "well over" 50 million. We can't find specific European Xbox 360 sales. Nintendo also announced new worldwide Wii balance board sales of 41.98 million. The peripheral is bundled with Wii Fit and Wii Fit Plus. The sales split is 22.67 million for Wii Fit, and 19.31 million for Wii Fit Plus. The Wii balance board had been awarded the coveted crown of best selling "personal weighing device" by the Guinness Book of Records. I wonder what the closest competitor was. Wii Fit launched in Europe in April 2008. Eurogamer's Wii Fit review awarded 8/10. Wii Fit Plus arrived in October 2009. And Eurogamer's Wii Fit Plus review awarded 7/10.

Silent Hill HD Collection has been pushed back until March, publisher Konami has announced. The game had originally been scheduled to launch on 24th January. No reason was offered for the delay. There are three new releases in the long-running survival horror series expected in the next few months - the aforementioned HD pack (featuring remastered versions of Silent Hill 2 and 3) on PS3 and Xbox 360, Silent Hill: Book of Memories on Vita and Silent Hill: Downpour on PS3 and Xbox 360. None have precise release dates yet though Konami told Joystiq more information would be forthcoming later this week.

Last night, Microsoft's last ever Consumer Electronics Show keynote turned out not to be the time nor place for a next generation Xbox announcement. All eyes can revert back to E3 this summer. But Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer did use the CES 2012 stage to share fresh Xbox 360 worldwide figures. Xbox 360 has 66 million users worldwide - a statement that translates to total worldwide console sales. Xbox Live has 40 million subscribers - he didn't specify the Gold/Silver split. Kinect has shipped over 18 million units worldwide - that's shipped, not sold The bulk of Ballmer's talk focused on the Metro interface recently rolled out for Xbox Live. The same design is coming to Windows 8 when that operating system rolls out this year. Ballmer said Kinect was coming to Windows on 1st February. Ballmer said more than 1.3 billion Windows PCs are in use today. Ballmer also waffled on about Windows Phone. Taigi sumasumarum skaičiai lieka skaičiais, bet panašu,kad Kinectas tikrai pasieks PC platformą Ir dar galite pasižiūrėti šitą http://www.eurogamer.net/videos/alan-wake-stars-in-xbla-house-party-2012-trailer
