Will there be a Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning 2? Co-developer Big Huge Games would love to make it, but it needs enough sales of the first game to convince a publisher to fund it. Reckoning finally launches in the UK tomorrow, Friday 10th February. It marks the end of a long journey for BHG, which has worked on the game in some shape or form for half a decade. You'd think, then, that BHG would fancy creating something entirely different for its next big project. Not so, according to lead designer Ian Frazier. In fact, not only would the team be happy to work on a sequel to its open world fantasy RPG - it would love to. "[A sequel] is certainly something we would love to do," he told Eurogamer. "Obviously it needs to succeed well enough to justify that. But we would love to do that. "[The game universe] is really big. It's 10,000 years of history. We could be sick to death of the Age of Arcana, which is where Reckoning is set, and be like, okay, we'll just pick a different time period or pick a different geography in a different area of the world. It's pretty darn varied, so we have a lot of stuff to choose from to keep it fresh." Of course, a Reckoning sequel is by no means guaranteed. Its existence, Frazier said, depends on how players react to the EA-published first game and, more importantly, how many copies it sells (a figure Frazier admits will be affected by Bethesda's open world fantasy RPG rival Skyrim). But even if Reckoning fails to set tills alight, there may still be hope. "It comes down to units sold at the end of the day, but it's complicated," he said. "If the game doesn't sell that many copies but the critical reception is really good, then our publisher might be like, well, it was the first in a new franchise, we're going to take a bet and sign you up for another one. If the sales are really good you're pretty much set no matter what. There's a pretty big sliding scale there. "There's that invisible line where, you sold enough to justify getting a sequel or another project, but not quite enough to get a great budget for it. So it's like, oh now how are we going to pull it off? "That's the scary zone. That's what you don't want. It's almost better to flop and go out of business than to have to pull something out of your ass and make it happen. "I've been there, man. At my last studio it was like, oh God, this is not possible. Not a place you want to be."

Asura's Wrath has been delayed to Friday, 9th March, Capcom has confirmed to Eurogamer. Capcom's quirky god-filled action game was due out on 24th February. Capcom said the delay was "due to the uncertainty of the UK retail market" - surely in reference to GAME and its current, well-documented troubles. The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 single-player only game was made by Cyber Connect 2, the Japanese studio behind the .hack and Naruto games. You play Asura, a demigod hell bent on avenging his wife's death. The game blends Asian mythology with sci-fi elements in an episodic, TV series structure. Asura is voiced by Liam O'Brien, the voice behind War from Darksiders. In the Western version you will be able to choose between Japanese and English voice acting.

Mass Effect 3 will be supported by two iOS apps, BioWare has revealed. Mass Effect Infiltrator is a third-person shooter, while Mass Effect Datapad allows players to stay in touch with their crewmates on-the-go. Both games will boost players' Galactic Readiness rating through Mass Effect 3's Galaxy at War metagame. Infiltator sees players freeing prisoners from hostile Cerberus bases and uncovering evidence of the group's misdeeds. It's coming to iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch devices. You get to use weapons and Biotic powers from the main series, and each successful mission rewards players with Galactic Readiness score. Datapad looks like it'll be for iPads only, meanwhile. Datapad allows you to keep track of Mass Effect's galaxy map and, in a mini-game, strategically deploy troops to fend off Reaper incursions. You can also recieve text messages from game characters, Kotaku reports. Can you flirt with your romance option? The mind boggles. Want to get the best ending in Mass Effect 3? Mass Effect 3 publisher EA has signed up hardware case creator Calibur11 to create Commander Shepard-themed Vault armour for your console. The Vault case envelopes your slim Xbox 360 with N7 branded suit armour, exactly like the suit hero Shepard wears in-game. Perhaps it's even bullet proof? It's probably not bullet proof. Confirmed features include increased cooling and airflow for your console, achieved by "lifting it off of the ground". The N7 logo also lights up. Each Vault comes with a numbered certificate of authenticity, and more Mass Effect 3 DLC - bonus in-game items to be used in the game's multiplayer mode. Each one costs £69.99 and only 25,000 of the things have been made. Get your order in soon.

Batman: Arkham City has now shipped over six million copies worldwide, publisher Warner Bros. Interactive has announced. The new figure was released as part of the entertainment group's annual financial report, which saw a healthy bump in revnues. The Filmed Entertainment division, which includes Warner's gaming interests, reported revenues of $12.6 billion, up from $11.6 billion last year, and operating income of $1.3 billion, up from $1.1 billion. The Rocksteady Studios-developed superhero sequel took flight in October to universal acclaim.

Codemasters has announced the Dirt 3 Complete Edition, which comes with £20 worth of extra content. Konami has announced the first DLC for Rebellion's head-rolling action game NeverDead. It adds a new character, expands the Asylum level, adds three new challenges and two new costumes for main character Bryce Boltzmann. The NeverDead Expansion Pack Volume 1 launches on 21st February. The contents in full, in publisher Konami's words: New Character: Play as the fashionable, charismatic pop-idol, Nikki Summerfield in cooperative challenges with your friends through online multiplayer. Three New Gameplay Challenges Revisit an expanded Asylum level with three all-new challenges: Egg Hunt: Scour the expanded Asylum level for collectables scoring points by delivering them to designated "Score Zones". Make sure to hold on tight to your collectibles as opponents can snatch any that you drop along the way. With enemy ambush points and environmental hazards at every turn, this challenge is tricky! Fragile Alliance: A competitive race through a number of checkpoints spread across the map. You can interrupt other player's progress by attacking each other. US shop GameStop is selling codes for a Mass Effect 3 DLC pack named From Dust - ahead of the game's March release. From Dust costs $10, according to a receipt snapped by Joystiq shows - likely meaning the usual £7.99/800 Microsoft Points price point in the UK. What do you get for your money? EA and BioWare are yet to say. BioWare has already confirmed that the mysterious additional squad member and mission found in Mass Effect 3's Collector's Edition will be available day-one. Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception gets a fresh batch of co-op content in the US today, developer Naughty Dog has announced. As explained in a post on the PlayStation Blog, the Fort Co-Op Adventure, priced at $5.99, sees series villains Zoran Lazarević, Eddy Raja and Harry Flynn team up in a new add-on that further explores the mystery behind the Janus head statue from the original on-disc co-op adventure. A batch of new character skin packs are also available to purchase from today. Sony UK hasn't confirmed yet whether the new content will be included in tomorrow's European PSN update. There's more DLC due in the next few weeks too. The Flashback Map Pack 2, out in the US on 21st February, offers Plaza, Temple, Train Wreck and Village multiplayer stages. PSP owners will not be able to transfer their physical UMD games across to a PS Vita system, Sony has confirmed. As reported by Kotaku, the UMD Passport programme that lets Japanese Vita owners register UMDs on their PSN accounts and then pay a small fee to re-download them on a Vita won't be available in the US. That means you'll only be able to play PSP games on your Vita that you originally downloaded via PlayStation Network rather than bought on disc. No explanation for the decision has was offered. Sony Europe hasn't confirmed whether the Passport scheme will also be absent on this side of the pond.
