Overview
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 is an upcoming RPG game being developed by Hardsuit Labs and published by Paradox Interactive. Announced on March 21, 2019, Bloodlines 2 is the long-aniticipated sequel to 2004's Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines and takes place in the same World of Darkness fictional universe created by White Wolf Publishing (who are now owned by Paradox). The game is set to be released in Q1 2020 for the PC, Xbox One and PS4.
The setting of the game has moved north from Los Angeles to that of Seattle, Washington. Game designer and writer of the first game, Brian Mitsoda, has returned to write an original narrative in the World of Darkness that revolves around a "Blood War" between the various vampire factions in the American North-West. Joining him is also esteemed RPG writer and game designer Chris Avellone (Planescape Torment, KOTOR 2, Icewind Dale, Baldur's Gate, and Fallout: New Vegas) as well as Cara Ellison, video game critic and game designer (Sacrilege) who is also working on the game.
Story
You play as a newly turned "Thin Blood" created through a "Mass Embrace" where a bunch of vampires are created at once. The Thin Bloods are considered to be among the lowest ranking in Vampire society, they are also less vulnerable to sunlight and have an easier time mingling. Much like the first game, through no fault of your own the Vampire Society finds out about the embrace and puts you on trial with the intention of executing you. A Mass Embrace is considered an affront to the Camarilla, and any vampire with any shred of humanity. But it also risks their discovery by the mortals.
Before judgement can be laid out, the courthouse is engulfed in flames, and the player makes their escape. You'll have to find ways to feed your hunger for blood while uncovering a conspiracy.
