Bioware’s Casey Hudson has confirmed that, contrary to appearances, Anthem is not an MMO.

 

Talking during EA’s “deep dive” Hudson stressed that the title isn’t an MMO, saying it’s “not an MMO, not a multiplayer game with story bolted on the side.” It’s something “new and different.”

Executive producer, Mark Durrah, explained that in many multiplayer games, the story driven experience can get “diluted” within shared worlds.

“You can build a solution to that, but you have to really build it into the core of the game. That’s what we’ve tried to do with Anthem. It’s what we call ‘our world, my story’.”
