Overview

Days Gone is open-world survival action game set two years after a worldwide epidemic. Following the story of Deacon St. John, a bounty hunter, and his fight to survive and find reasons to live. The game was developed by Bend Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It was released for PS4 on April 26, 2019. A Windows version is forthcoming (expected Q2 2021).

It’s been a little over four years since we released Uncharted: Golden Abyss for PS Vita and you may be wondering what Bend Studio’s been up to. Well, it’s finally time to share what we’ve been working on. Today during the PlayStation E3 2016 Press Conference we debuted our brand new original franchise, Days Gone. The PlayStation team, as well as the press conference production crew at the Shrine Auditorium, gave us the perfect venue to showcase some of the hard work we’ve been putting into the game’s characters, story, open-world environments, Drifter bike and dangerous encounters. The team is very excited about the reactions we’ve seen so far and we’re looking forward to a very busy E3.

Set in the beautiful, volcanic scarred high-desert of the Pacific Northwest, Days Gone is an open-world action-adventure game where you play as Deacon St. John, a Drifter and bounty hunter who would rather risk the dangers of the broken road than live in one of the “safe” wilderness encampments. The game takes place two years after a global pandemic has killed almost everyone, but transformed millions of others into what survivors call Freakers – mindless, feral creatures, more animal than human but very much alive and quickly evolving. In the demo you saw two types of Freaks – Newts, which were adolescents when infected, are opportunistic hunters, preferring to hit and run from the shadows; and a Horde. Made up of hundreds of individual Freakers, Hordes eat, move and attack together, almost as one. Some Hordes roam the highways at night, while others, like the one in the demo, have found a food source that keeps it in a single location. Skills learned in his prior life as an outlaw biker have given Deacon a slight edge in the seemingly never-ending fight to stay alive. But will it be enough?

This is a brutal world, where everyone and everything is struggling to survive – but hopefully, the trailer shows that the game is about more than that. It’s about desperation, hope, transformation, loss, madness, discovery, friendship, exploration, brotherhood, regret and love. In the end, Days Gone is about what makes us human. It’s about how even when confronted with such enormous tragedy, we find a reason to live. Hope never dies.

If you are at E3 stop by the PlayStation booth to get a look at our extended gameplay demo, where in addition to showing off Deacon’s encounter with the Horde, we offer a glimpse of our brutal sandbox combat: crafting, traps and alternate paths, which only scratches the surface of how the demo can be played in multiple ways. For those of you who can’t make it to E3, don’t worry: in the next couple of days we’ll be uploading our gameplay video, so be sure and keep an eye out for that. We’ll be talking more about the world of Days Gone in the coming months, so hang on tight and get ready to ride the broken road. Just like Deacon, our ride is only beginning.

tai jis ir atejo to bico galvos kuri po to patvarke zombiai. ir kas is to kad zombiai. man tai kaip tik patiko. kitokie kazkokie ten jie , kaip mutantai vieni tokie maziukai buvo. ir kaip sakoma kad cia bus open worldas tai bus kur vaziuot ir ka veikt.

Nezinau kodel jus taip pries zombius. :D Man tai kaip tik geris, kad jie bus. Bus visa laika itampa zaidime. Pagal zaidima sitas vyrukas pasirode kaip nusikalteliu medziotojas. Jeigu zaidime gausime misija kazka pagauti, tik neaisku kam tu zmoniu reikia zombiu uzkariautoje zeme, keliausime ji gaudyti ir tuo paciu turesime kovoti su zombiais. Man viskas kaip tik. Tik gal galetu ju buti kiek maziau. Bet ir vel.. Video parode viena aplinka. Gal kitur ju bus vienas kitas. Siaip zaidimas aukstos klases.

 

Nors aisku ir pritarciau, kad is tokio zaidimo galima kurti nebloga zaidima grinai apie bounty hunter. Rasti uzsakovus, gaudyti zmones, ju nezudyti ir panasiai. Manau aplinka butu nebloga. Ypac vazineti su motociklu.

man patinka nes survival , lootas, craftas galbut, misijos, emocijos kad butu del kazko. na emociju parode per treileri. ne kazkoks ten kapojimas visu. kad zaidimo uzduotis nera iskapot zombius , kas buna labai buka ir greit nusibosta. geriausia tai padare last of us mano skoniui. na kad butu dialogu , kitu zmoniu sutiktum ,jiem gal padetum, gal juos zudytum, viskas tinka jei gerai pateikta. o zombiai . na viskas paaiskinta siaip treileri. ju visur nera, tai bus tikriausia ir ramiu vietoviu.

devai vadina zaidima open world sandbox. ne visi open world zaidimai yra sandbox. ta prasme kad cia bus tam tikros taisykles kaip lost . bet visa kita tu pats susikursi, situacijas ir kaip ir ju islysti gyvam 

zaidimas bus paremtas ideja: kas jeigu ...tipo kas jeigu as eisiu ten ar darysiu taip ...ir tu galesi daryti savo sprendimus. 

vistik tai bus story driven adventure. tai visada darysi kazka pagal zaidimo story. 

sake dar ta matyta zombiu upe gali tave uzplust bet kur, ypac nakti. gali nuplaut vaziuojant mocu kad ir miske. tai niekad nezinai 

zaidime pilnas dienos nakties ciklas, oru sistema.

Na kolkas niekur nemačiau jog žaidime zombiai kaip upė tekėtų :D Užskaitau žaidimą būtent dėl šio dalyko. Jiems gi tik viena terūpi todėl braunasi vienas per kitą, juda kaip vientisa košė.

* Studio is about 100 people, was around 40 - 50 for Uncharted Vita. 

* Game is PS4 Exclusive, no PC mode "We are Sony Bend, we are PS4 Exclusive" lol. At Sony Bend, they make it very clear during interview, everyone wears a lot of hats. Many people are involved in different aspects.

* One thing I picked up is you ride a special bike, called a Drifter, that can drive off road, they said lots of off roading since the roads are all broken up, "Broken Roads." The bike is needed to survive, it is like its own character. It has saddle bags that holds your inventory. The bike is grounded, you will need to "know where it is and manage it" Several devs are bikers, lots of research into the bike. Actually got it up on rollers to make sure they got the sound of the bike right. 

* Also, weather has a big effect on traveling and how the bike handles.

* No Multiplayer at all, focusing on their strengths, single player story.

* Demo was a bounty hunting mission, hunting down a biker "2 Dog" and tried to show the danger of leaving the safety of encampments. 

* Wanted the game to be a big sandbox of what you would do when "shit goes down."

* Weapons crafting system, they call a "MacGuyver Mentality" where the you figure out clever ways to build tools to get out of situations.

* Their demo they are showing off on show floor has "millions" of ways to play that demo, depending on what tools you bring with you. The environment also plays a huge role in how you deal with certain situations.

* Takes place just a few years after the "apocolypse" event. Society is starting to try to rebuild, as supplies are starting to run out. Made it sound like part of the game is figuring out what to do with the resources you find. 

* Wildlife is in the game, they have a "huge" wildlife system they aren't going to talk much about right now. But the event didn't wipe out all wildlife.

* Not willing to talk yet about different story paths, different endings, etc. They chuckled but they dont want to talk about it yet. 

* Zombie hoard was all real, no LOD tricks, there are that many people on the screen.

* No release date or time window. They aren't wanting to do that right now. 

* It was huge for their studio to be right up there on stage, getting prime focus, along with all of Sony's other big studios. It showed them how much Sony believes in their product. It meant a lot to them. 

* Game has been in development for 3+ years, but still its in early development as they just only finished core mechanics/ideas of the game and not ready yet
