One of the launch team-only special edition Xbox One White Commemorative consoles is being auctioned off for UK charity GamesAid, giving punters a chance to get their hands on a console that is otherwise only available to Microsoft employees.

 

The console comes with a matching white controller, as well as an exclusive launch team achievement and "I Made This" written on the front. It also comes with a Kinect device, which is unfortunately the standard black colour and doesn't match.

 

Commencing earlier today on eBay, bidding on the white Xbox One has already climbed to a staggering £1205 for GamesAid, and bidding is set to continue until 15:07 on Friday, 8th November. The winning bidder will get their white Xbox One sometime after launch day, which is November 22nd. If you're bidding, good luck!

Jo baltas bent gražiai atrodo. O dėl kinect'o, tai jis niekad nebus baltas, bent jau priekinė jo dalis, o kodėl tai turbūt patys suprantat.

Xbox One consoles may be forced to reboot during a gaming session because of frequent cloud server updates, according to Microsoft's Xbox Live lead program manager John Bruno, who revealed the details at GDC Next.

As we've discussed previously, the Xbox One will have two types of achievement. There are gaming achievements, like you've always had, but now there are also media achievements, designed to reward you for spending time using your Xbox One for other stuff (and, ultimately, spending more money).

 

This image is our first look at how they're actually going to be handled.

 

It seems the two kinds of reward aren't in any way linked - Microsoft's talk at E3 indicated they'd be kept separate, and didn't talk much about it yesterday - but what you can see in the shot above says pretty much all you need to know about them. They're so stupid, and will surely be something most people only pick up by accident.

 

Unless...oh yeah, at E3, Microsoft also said there'd be "benefits" to gaining media achievements. That second Amazon achievement surely hinting at what some of those benefits might be.

 

Vienu zodziu, pay-to-win achievement'ai, kad issinuomotum filmu, serialu, o firmos (kad ir amazon su savo keliais serialais) pasidarytu reklama ir pritrauktu ziurovu.

Now that there are Xbox Ones in the wild -- thanks to Target's apparently leaky pre-order system -- we're finding out more and more about the system. Moonlight Swami has been busy messing around with the console, and while not everything is available two weeks before the official launch, there are some things that we haven't seen before. He's timed the bootup at 17 seconds to get to the dashboard, and the update that downloaded during setup measured at 500MB. The listings for games on the Xbox Live Marketplace reveal some hefty downloads in store for next-gen -- interestingly NBA 2K14 is 43GB while EA's Madden and FIFA are 12GB and 8GB, respectively. Other notables include Forza 5 at 31GB, Dead Rising 3 at 19GB and Call of Duty: Ghosts 39GB.

 

Update: We've contacted Microsoft about the nature of the ban but have not received a response yet, however over at Sony, president of Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida responded to a question on Twitter indicating his company would not ban anyone who got online early with a PS4.

 

Update 2: Microsoft's Major Nelson has reached out to Moonlight Swami on Twitter saying he'll "get this sorted out" but so far there's no word on a change in the status of his console.

 

Unlike the PS4, the Xbox One won't support 3D Blu-ray playback at launch

 

Now that Microsoft has adopted Blu-ray for its upcoming Xbox One, some of you might have been wondering if this next-gen console will support 3D Blu-ray movies. Well, the answer is no, or at least not yet. Back in May, Director of Xbox Programming, Larry Hryb aka Major Nelson, vaguely confirmed 3D and 4K output on the Xbox One, but his company has recently told CNET that the machine will be shipped without 3D Blu-ray playback capability. Having said that, there's still a chance of adding this feature via an update later on.

 

On the other hand, Sony has just confirmed to us that the PS4 will definitely come with both 3D Blu-ray playback (requires the 1.50 firmware update and then a one-time activation) and 3D gameplay (albeit a current lack of 3D titles). And while there's no 4K output for games just yet, the Japanese giant is considering adding support for 4K still images and video to the console, as mentioned in its lengthy FAQ. Not that any of this is going to deter the hardcore gamers, anyway.

Visiskai nesistebiu kad tos anksti parduotos konsoles yra baninamos- tai yra visiskai normalu. Netgi dev-kitai kuriuos as turejau buvo reikalaujami prijunkti prie xbox live kas 24 valandas ir pilnai suformatuoti ir per naujo updetinami.

Ir kas svarbiausia jei per updat'a nulinkdavo internetas arba konsole nebuvo prisijungus prie xbox live po 24 valandu, konsole buvo pilnai uz-brikinta ir visiskai nenaudojama!

Pats marketplace nera paruostas komercinem konsolem is parduotuviu kadangi zaidimai kaip FM5 yra paprasciausiai nemokami ir juos gali parsisiusti.

Taigi yra visiskai logiska kad xbox one konsoles kurios nera dev kitai yra baninami iskarto kad niekas nesisiustu to kas jiems nepriklauso iki oficialios isleidimo datos.

 

Del Blu-Ray filmu deja update reikes net ir paprastiems blu-ray filmams, ar jis palaikys 3D as nezinau..
