A PlayStation 4 has been pictured at a Sony event, allegedly overheating and displaying a red line down the console and a warning message on screen.

 

“It had a red light (where the typical blue LED light) and had a message on the screen saying that the console had a very high temperature,” explains an eyewitness “The security case was opened and in two seconds the error message was removed and the light had returned to its normal colour.”

 

Some have described this as “The Red Line Of Death”, which it clearly is not as the console recovered quite quickly once it had some air.

 

The red line and message seem like an excellent failsafe mechanism, warning that your console is getting too hot before any damage occurs.

 

There is absolutely no indication that this is a production problem with the PS4, most things will overheat and turn red when placed in a small glass box. In fact, we are testing this theory right now and have shoved Blair in the TSA microwave oven, he has just passed “Red Pepper” and is well on his way to “Postbox”.

For years, the team here at Santa Monica Studio has been pushing the boundaries of gaming with small, innovative games. Now, some of our best titles are making the jump to new PlayStation platforms — including PS4.

 

As you may have heard, thatgamecompany’s Flower is coming to PS Vita. Today I am happy to officially announce that it is also coming to PS4 and that both versions will launch on November 15th. Now this beautiful, meditative game can be experienced at 1080p and 60fps.

 

 

 

I’m also excited to tell you that Sound Shapes, the ground-breaking musical platformer from Queasy Games, will also be joining Flower in the PS4 launch line-up on November 15th.

 

 

Flower isn’t the only thatgamecompany title making its way to new places. We are also bringing flOw to PS Vita and PS4. This is the first game TGC released — the one that started it all. It will release for both PS4 and PS Vita on November 29th.

 

 

But wait, that’s not all. Escape Plan, the dark, funny PS Vita survival game from Fun Bits Interactive, will be making the jump to the big screen and will launch on PS4 on November 29th. We have spent a lot of time reworking the controls for DualShock 4, and we can’t wait for you to get your hands on it.

 

 

Finally, these are all Cross-Buy games, meaning if you buy it once, you’ll be able to download it for free on any available system. Oh, and one more thing: if you have purchased these games previously on PlayStation Store, they will be available to you when they release on PS4 or PS Vita at no additional charge.

PlayStation 4 Lock-Ins at GAME This Month

Wanna get your hands on PlayStation 4 early? Live in the UK? Then you're in luck! GAME is running a series of lock-ins across more than 60 of its stores nationwide, and you can play PS4 games and stuff.

 

All you need to do is sign up with a participating store via Twitter (click the corresponding link below to go straight to the store's Twitter feed) or by heading in-store and asking really nicely. Then you can toddle along and get your hands on PS4. Hooray.

 

FIFA 14, Octodad: Dadliest Catch, Knack, Contrast, Super Mother Load and Pinball Arcade will be among the games on offer to play. Participants must be 16 or over and must have valid ID to enter.
