According to the Japanese website GameWatch, Agni’s Philosophy was running on a single GTX 680 that was paired with an i7-3770K (at 3.5GHz) and 32 GB of RAM. As the website suggests, this tech demo did not stress the aforementioned machine much, meaning that such graphics can be easily achieved by high-end PC systems. The tech demo used 1.8GB of texture data and was said to be running with a combination of MSAA and FXAA.

Last but not least, the tech demo was running at 60fps – on that PC system that was described above – and not 30fps. Impressive, right?

Unity Technologies has announced the successor to its Unity 4 Engine that is – obviously – called Unity 5. According to the company, Unity 5 supports 64-bit operating systems and comes with a completely overhauled audio system, physical shaders, and advanced real-time lighting.

In addition, Unity 5 supports PhysX 3.3, Unity Cloud ad-sharing network and WebGL.

Unity Technologies and Mozilla have also released a video, showing off the engine running on FireFox.

According to David Helgason, CEO at Unity Technologies, Unity 5 sports the most complex lighting in the industry now.

Speaking to VentureBeat, David Helgason had this to say:

“We’ve got the most complex lighting in the industry now. We think we can get to the point where we beat everything else out there.”

ne grafikoj esme, ar tai unity ar tai ue ar tai cryengine, ar fox engine, priklauso kaip tu shaderi pasiprogramuosi ir su lightingu suzaisi scalmano kruva video, nebuvo grynai real time, ten tiek sviesos saltiniu kad viskas sukes pagal kureja nedaugiau 7 frame vietom. vietom iki 20. taip prikurt galima, vis dar tai realtime jei kadro po kadro nerenderinam. bet ar tai dabar panaudosi, nope.

The Japanese developer Silicon Studio, which you probably know for Bravely Default, announced with a press release that it will showcase its new rendering engine “Mizuchi” at GDC 2015, held in San Francisco between March 2nd and March 6th.

What’s even more interesting, is that the developer will show for the first time the engine running in real-time on PS4.

As you may remember, when I visited Silicon Studio in December, I was shown the engine running on Sony’s console, and it’s definitely promising, granting amazing graphics and visual effects while running at 30 frames per second in 1080p resolution.

I was even allowed to “play” with it by controlling the camera with the DualShock 4, and the demo was really impressive. Hopefully, with it being shown publicly at GDC, you’ll be able to catch a glimpse of it as well.

On top of Mizuchi, the studio will also showcase its optics middleware Yebis 3, it’s older engineOrochi 3, and its C++ multiplatform engine Paradox. They’ll also have a playable demo of Bandai Namco’s Rise of the Incarnates, which uses Orochi 3 and Yebis 3.

According to GDC’s schedule, engineers from Eidos and AMD will ‘detail the TressFX 3.0 solution used in Dawn Engine which will be the cornerstone to the development of the Deus Ex Universe projects at the studio.’

“We show how Eidos graphics engineers built upon TressFX to break new grounds and deliver a realistic and scalable hair solution in the Dawn Engine for PC and consoles. With a focus on game requirements such as artistic control and animation support this talk will cover the practical considerations of a full TressFX pipeline, from authoring to rendering. In addition, for simulation, we address topics such as collisions, shape preservation, stretching, and wind. For rendering, we discuss how to blend strands with traditional hair meshes, antialiasing solutions, and translucency sorting techniques.”
