Details of the world

 

- There are multiple types of animals in the game including; wolves, bears, deer and dogs. There are at least two breeds of dog in the game.

 

- Bushes located around the game, mostly in the Frontier zone, can be used to silently and stealthily move through

Other interesting facts

 

- The game has a rope dart which has Chinese origin. This was added in place of a so-called chain blade as the rope dart was a real world invention and they wanted to keep the game away from fantasy. The two weapons however are practically identical.

 

- Skinning animals was designed prior to Red Dead Redemption’s launch despite similarities.

 

- Connor originally scalped those who he assassinated although after researching the type of Native American the team had decided he would be they found they didn’t scalp people.

 

- Players will be rewarded more for animal skins collected from clean kills, for example knife kills, than dirty kills, e.g. musket kills. The reason is that musket kills would put more holes in the animal skin, damaging the goods.

 

- Muskets won’t be useable in the rain

Assassin's Creed III uses new engine "AnvilNext"

 

Ubisoft has confirmed that upcoming game Assassin's Creed III is powered by new engine named as "AnvilNext". The speciality of this new Engine was revealed by Assassin's Creed IP development manager Tommy Francois.

 

Assassin's Creed 3Tommy Francois said that AnvilNext allows development team to include over 2,000 characters on-screen at any one time. In addition to this, AnvilNext also allows implemetation of dynamic weather system and completely overhaul the animation system.

Wii U tablet controller can act as some form of link to the Assassin’s Creed “Animus”

Wii U tablet Animus can be used as a persistent on-screen map and navigation tool.

Animus Database entries that may pop up from time to time, could be displayed on the touchscreen instead and not interrupt the flow of the game.

The Animus can also act as an encyclopedia of information. Character biographies and bits of information that would normally be cast aside could be displayed on the touchscreen (take a break and read up on the side story & character history while eating dinner?).

Easy touchscreen weapon selection during combat. Quick change from dual-wield combat to single with a simple touch.

Using the touchscreen as an alternate view for Eagle Vision. Using the built-in accelerometer to control the camera view while in Eagle Vision.

 

Assassin's Creed III is schedule to launch on October 30 for PS3 and Xbox 360. The release date of Wii U version is not yet revealed.
