Overview

The Jak Trilogy rereleased in 720p HD and 3D, for PlayStation 3 and Vita.

In addition to being available on a disc, the collection is also available via download on the Playstation Store. The digital version is available both as the full bundle or as individual games.

The Games

Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy

When a mute teenager named Jak and his wisecracking friend named Daxter come upon a bad guy messing with Dark Eco, a powerful and chaotic material, Daxter falls into the goo, becoming a otter-weasel hybrid, an ottsel. Together, Jak and Daxter travel the world, using other forms of eco, to undo Daxter's transformation and save the wise sages, and the land they protect, from destruction.

Jak II

We learn that the duo discovered a time machine in the finale of the first game. When Daxter accidentally triggers it, the machine opens a portal out of which Kor, a monstrous metal head, comes. To escape the devastation of their world, Jak and Daxter travel through the portal with their mentor Samos and his daughter Keira. They arrive in Haven City, an industrial metropolis, and Jak is taken into prison and tortured. Changed and hardened, Jak is released by Daxter and the wanted duo set out to figure out where they are and what they can do to help this city and themselves

Jak 3

With the defeat of Kor, battles still rage between the guard and the metal heads. Jak and Daxter are blamed by a corrupt city council for the continued violence and exiled to the desert wastes. Found by the desert king, they must prove themselves worthy of survival and find a way to return to Haven and make things right.

Forthcoming PlayStation 3 HD revamp The Jak and Daxter Trilogy arrives in European stores on 22nd February - the same day as the Vita.

 

The pack includes touched-up versions of Naughty Dog's PS2 platformers Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, Jak 2 and Jak 3.

 

You can expect 720p HD visuals, stereoscopic 3D support and over 100 Trophies to track down, some of which were unveiled on the PlayStation Blog earlier today:

Originally created by critically-acclaimed developer Naughty Dog Inc. and remastered by Mass Media, the Jak and Daxter Collection features the first three installments of the multimillion-unit selling franchise: Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy®, Jak II™ and Jak 3™- fully remastered in high definition on one Blu-ray Disc for just $39.99 MSRP.

 

Each installment in the Jak and Daxter Collection offers crisp 720p high definition visuals and seamless gameplay animation. The Jak and Daxter Collection also introduces stereoscopic 3D functionality, amping up the games’ signature action and adventure with a new level of immersion. In addition, the Jak and Daxter Collection offers full PlayStation® Network Trophy support, delivering over 100 custom-created trophies to unlock across all three titles in the collection.

      @lukasamba, ačiū už pasidalinimą patirtimi. Pats save t. p. galėčiau priskirti prie "entuziastų", bet su amžiumi tas entuziazmas jau ne be toks "degantis"😄 Pinigai šioje vietoje man nėra didelė problemą, diskasukį jau turiu (pirkau iš anksto tokiam atvejui). Man esminis skirtumas ar tikrai verta vargti ir nelaukiant PS6 keisti į Pro (kuria po to vistiek teks keisti į tą pačią PS6). Iki šiol nesu apsisprendęs ar man to reikia, bet aišku čia galutinis sprendimas mano. Kiek teko žiūrėti visų palyginimų, tai kardinalaus skirtumo nėra (jo ir ne gali būti). Tavo pateiktas pavyzdįs labai geras, bet čia esminis skirtumas kad su Pro AC Shadows gauni Performance mode RTGI ir apie 60fps, o vaniline ne, bet tą pati RTGI gauni quality mode. Šiaip asmeniškai labiau linkstu prie to kad kol kas neverta. P. S. Tiesa kaip pati konsoles kokybė, triukšmo lygis, kokie pasaliniai garsai ?

      Pirkau išleidimo dieną, bet aš esu entuziastas ant tokių dalykų ir tiesiog labai mėgstu PlayStation konsoles, tai pasakysiu taip. Paprastam žmogui tikrai neverta jos pirkti. Yra žaidimų kur skirtumas didesnis ir yra, kur skirtumas nematomas, bet jau praėjus truputi laiko, tai vis atsiranda žaidimų, kur tas skirtumas yra vis didesnis ir didesnis. Pvz. aš labai daug Gran Turismo 7 žaidžiu, tai ten ant Pro konsolės rezoliucija beveik 4K gaunasi ir FPS šokinėja tarp 100 ir 120 kažkas tokio, čia yra kosmosas. Turint didelį "high-end" televizorių (turiu), tai tas skirtumas labiau pasijaučia. AC Shadows išėjo ir ten skirtumai drastiški, ne tik rezoliucija, bet įvairūs grafikos nustatymai, apšvietimas, šešėliai ir panašiai. Tačiau yra vienas bet, Pro konsolė kainuoja, jei perkant kartu su diskasukiu, +- dvigubai daugiau negu Slim konsolė, tačiau perkant gauni +- apie 30% performance boost. Kaip tas patampa realybe, tai kaip minėjau, pas vienus žaidimus labiau, pas kitus ne, tai jei negaila sumokėti 100% daugiau pinigų dėl 30% performance boost, tai pirmyn. O šeip rekomenduočiau pažiūrėti Digital Foundry video YT, labai daug įvarių palyginimų yra.
