Huge news for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 fans, a new site has just launched that displays what can only be assumed to be a countdown to the reveal of the next game in the franchise. findmakarov.com has just launched with a countdown perched at just under five days. Activision also sent out bloody dog tags that had the message "end war" on them.

At http://findmakarov.com you will find the countdown, alongside a quick flash of the villain from Modern Warfare 2 when you load the page. As you can probably remember Makarov made it out alive of Modern Warfare 2, and is likely the next target of Modern Warfare 3.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is an upcoming first-person shooter video game set to be released in November 2011. It will be the eighth installment in the Call of Duty series. Due to a legal dispute between the game's publisher Activision and the former co-executives of Infinity Ward - which caused several lay-offs and departures within the company - Sledgehammer Games will assist in the development of the singleplayer, and Raven Software will develop the multiplayer. The game is said to have been in development since only two weeks after the release of the previous game, Call of Duty: Black Ops. Sledgehammer is aiming for a "bug free" first outing in the Call of Duty franchise, which also sets a goal for Metacritic review scores above 95 percent.

Modern Warfare 3 to Get a June Reveal

 

The biggest game in the world returns soon. At least that’s the message in the latest issue of Official PlayStation Magazine. In a teaser for its July issue, the magazine depicts a large “3″, hinting at none other than Modern Warfare 3. We all knew it was coming, right?

Voice actor Craig Fairbrass had previously hinted that a Modern Warfare 3 announcement was imminent.

“I did Call of Duty: Modern Warfare as Gaz and then I did Ghost in Modern Warfare 2, which has become one of the more iconic figures in the history of computer games, which is great,” Fairbrass said during a radio interview.

“And I’ve just been out in LA doing something that’s going to be announced in May,” he added. “I’ve just been out there doing some bits and pieces, and one is to do with… I can’t say too much.”
