iOS 4.3.2 Coming In Two Weeks?

Apple is looking to launch another version of iOS 4.3 within two weeks. The update, labelled iOS 4.3.2, should contain various fixes and enhancements, address security issues (quite possibly a jailbreak fix) and it “will also fix several bugs that have affected users.”

On March 21st, BGR reported iOS 4.3.1 would be released within “one or two weeks”, and the OS was released on Friday, March 25th. If BGR’s track record is of any indication, there is the small chance to see iOS 4.3.2 becoming available next week if Apple really wants to close security holes and fix bugs quickly. In the past weeks, several users running iOS 4.3.1 reported bugs in the FaceTime application for iPad and iPhone, WiFi connectivity issues after the 4.3.1 upgrade and other minor glitches in the Camera app.

iOS 4.3.2 Dropping Within Next Two Weeks, Likely To Patch Untethered Jailbreak, Stay Away

Breaking news coming out of BGR today, with the blog claiming Apple will be releasing iOS 4.3.2 in just two weeks.



Citing a source inside Apple, BGR says the next update to Apple’s mobile OS will sport bug fixes as well as plugging security holes. Could Apple be looking to stop jailbreakers (untethered) once more with this update?, most likely yes. Though we’re sure the battle will rumble on.

iOS 4.3.2 for iPhone 4, 3GS, iPad 2/1, iPod touch Due Next Week, Will Fix FaceTime, and iPad 2 Issues on Verizon

Folks at BGR have got their hands-on the the upcoming iOS 4.3.2 for iPhone 4, 3GS, iPad 2 & 1, iPod touch, and it is said to contain fix for 3G iPad 2 woes on Verizon, along with FaceTime issues reported on the current iOS 4.3.1 release.

 

 

According to their sources, iOS 4.3.2 is due within the next week or so. Apple is also expected to once again close the jailbreak hole which was recently released to untether the jailbreak on iOS 4.3.1.

Untethered Jailbreak Confirmed Working for iOS 4.3.2

I0n1c has confirmed that his untethered jailbreak exploit is still working for iOS 4.3.2. This is surprising but good news for jailbreakers.

Apple has been nice. I just verified that the untether vulnerability is not fixed in iOS 4.3.2 - my Ipad 1 is running untethered jailbroken

Of course the public untether binaries will not work with iOS 4.3.2 - I have to generate new untether binaries with new dyld/kernel offsets

I won't be able to create all the untether binaries before sunday, because I will be on planes, ...

The dev-team cannot produce the untether binaries on their own, because they don't have the source code to the untether exploit.

Well from what I hear lots of the problems people had with 4.3.1 (like wifi, 3g, ...) are gone in 4.3.2

Once I0n1c has produced the untether binaries for iOS 4.3.2 its likely that new version of RedSn0w and PwnageTool will be released by the iPhone Dev-Team. We'll let you know as soon as they are available.

RedSn0w Updated to Support 4.3.2 Untethered Jailbreak

Only moments ago we told you that i0n1c released his untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3.2. The download that i0n1c posted consisted of the jailbreak code, instead of an actual tool for end users.

Right after i0n1c’s release, the Dev Team has updated the RedSn0w jailbreak tool with iOS 4.3.2 support. RedSn0w will successfully jailbreak iOS 4.3.2 and is available on both Mac OS X and Windows.

From the Dev Team’s blog,

“Only a few weeks after the 4.3.1 untether created by @i0n1c was released, Apple pushed out firmware 4.3.2. Thankfully, it appears Apple didn’t have a chance to fix the hole used by @i0n1c’s untether, so he ported his code over to 4.3.2’s kernel.

As always, ultrasn0w unlockers should stay away from redsn0w and only update their firmware through a custom IPSW. We’ll release a new version of PwnageTool sometime this week.

Note that many people are currently having problems updating to 4.3.2 through saurik’s server. You’ll need to remove the gs.apple.com entry in your hosts file in order to restore directly to Apple’s servers.”

PwnageTool 4.3.2 Released (UnTethered)

PwnageTool has just been updated to 4.3.2, which now includes the 4.3.2 untether from @i0n1c, just like redsn0w. The 4.3.2 untether works on all devices that actually support 4.3.2 except for the iPad2. If your one of the lucky users who have recieved a stock device on 4.3.2, or "accidentally" updated, then todays your lucky day. Of course this is more directed towards users that unlock their iPhones.

As I reported you earlier that Apple intend to release iOS 4.4 / 4.3.3 firmware update by the next few weeks to fix tracking issue. Most likely that huge number of iOS device users will be interested in this update to protect themself from such silly tracking. But what about iOS 4.4 / 4.3.3 jailbreak?




Apparently, that Apple's developers are concentrating on the major issue which is tracking, so that it's highly expected that Apple won't patch i0n1c's untether exoplit which used on the current jailbreak tools to jailbreak iOS 4.3.2, most likely you will get Redsn0w 0.9.6rc15 immidiately after iOS 4.4 / 4.3 official released to jailbreak iOS 4.4 / 4.3.3.

Apple Releases iOS 4.3.3

Apple just released iOS 4.3.3. It’s available now in iTunes if you check for updates, and direct links to the downloads will be available shortly.

As previously reported, iOS 4.3.3 improves the way iPhones and iPads handle the location tracking database stored on-device by making is smaller and encrypted. The location database will be no longer backed up to iTunes and it will be deleted entirely when Location Services are turned off.

Apple released iOS 4.2.8 for the Verizon iPhone. You can download it here. As for the build numbers: iOS 4.3.3 for the iPad 1 is labelled 8J3, with other iOS devices getting build 8J2. The Verizon iPhone’s iOS 4.3.3 is build 8E401.
