Following the destruction of Ansem and Xemnas at the hands of Sora and Riku, Xehanort is revived. In response, Yen Sid decides to put Sora and Riku through the Mark of Mastery Exam in order to become full-fledged Keyblade Masters and counter Xehanort's threat.

The plot will also have connections to Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep and Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days,[1] and Tetsuya Nomura stated that like Birth by Sleep, "the story is on par with that of a numbered title".[2] The setting of Dream Drop Distance will again be spread across several worlds; several Kingdom Hearts-original worlds will return, such as Traverse Town, but all of the Disney-based worlds will be entirely new.[3] According to an interview, Tetsuya Nomura said the game will take part on the Mark of Mastery, but not completely, and has stated that there will be new clothing for Sora and Riku.

New Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance details – the “initiative” before Kingdom Hearts III

Another anticipated title coming from Square Enix is Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance. The magazine has some new tidbits in this week’s issue. I’ve been able to translate the following information thus far:

- Sora hasn’t changed (this is unclear at the moment)
- This game will provide some answers
- Described as a mysterious game
- Explores the hidden data inside Sora
- Kingdom Hearts 3D is the “initiative” before Kingdom Hearts III
- Will feature a secret movie like past games in the series
- Traverse Town contains two mysterious characters, who Tetsuya Nomura wouldn’t reveal
- Travel up to rooftops
- 40-50% complete
- Side tidbit 1: Nomura once again said that Kingdom Hearts III completes the Xehanort Saga
- Side tidbit 1: Sora will continue to be the main character of Kingdom Hearts, even after III is complete

Tetsuya Nomura paskelbė jog Kingdom Hearts: Dream drop distance demonstracinė versiją pasieksė Šiaurės Amerika ir Japoniją.

We’ve decided to distribute a KH3D demo in North America as well as Japan. You can play part of Sora’s scenario in Traverse Town. So if your friends haven’t played it yet, you can recommend it to them. And of course, give the co-op mini game Flick Rush a try. Also, an unannounced title is being prepared as well, though it’s something lighter. There are still songs continuing to be distributed for Theartrhythm Final Fantasy so you can look forward to that as well. - Tetsuya Normura

Paskelbta, kad Kingdom hearts 3DS turės Mark of Mastery Edition.

Square Enix has announced they’re releasing collector’s edition of Kingdom Hearts 3D, known as the Mark of Mastery Edition. It’s an exclusive to North America and features the following items:

A copy of Kingdom Hearts 3D
A branded clear hard case skin cover
12 art cards
5 augmented reality cards that will allow you to unlock some rare Dream Eaters
A 360 degree viewing stand to view your Dream Eaters (3DS blog)
