Paramount has even gone as far as bringing the movies screenwriter, Jack Epps, on board to flesh out the plot. John Kavanagh, senior vice president of video games, Paramount Digital Entertainment had this to say…

We’re confident players will have a great time doing inverts, buzzing the tower and getting into dogfight battles with film’s characters and their friends online.”

Top Gun looks to have “solid tone” sometime this summer.

The game, simply named Top Gun, will be based from the 1986 film. You'll be playing as Maverick, but Goose, Iceman, and the other Top Gun boys will also be on board.

 

There will be a single-player Horde Mode, but there will be five modes for multiplayer - "Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Top Gun (choose your wingman and compete against enemy pairs), Bombing Run (defend and attack mobile bases) and Capture the Flag."
