Fallout Online (Project V13)

Rekomenduojami pranešimai

Nuotrauka

Project V13 is the codename of an unannounced massively multiplayer online game being developed by Interplay and Masthead Studios. Chris Taylor, one of the creators of Fallout, is one of the lead developers. Jason Anderson, one of the other makers of Fallout, was involved in the project between 2007 and 2009, but has since left the team.

While not officially announced as such yet, it is believed to be Fallout Online, nicknamed FOOL by the fans, an MMORPG set in the Fallout world, since Interplay licensed the rights to such a game after selling the rights to Fallout to Bethesda Softworks and since the makers of the original Fallout are involved. The rights are currently the subject of a legal dispute between Bethesda and Interplay

The game will use the same engine as Earthrise, another post-apocalyptic MMORPG in development at Masthead Studios.

kas is viso to gausis bus matyt. bet falloute grafika niekad nevaidino dideles roles

Interplay's Fallout Online MMO appears to be moving forwards, suggesting that the legal troubles with Bethesda that had previously impeded it are largely resolved.

Last month saw the launch of a teaser site, complete with sign-up form for early beta access.

Over the weekend, the first of a set of pre-release newsletters was sent out to anybody who had registered an interest. The in-character text tells of a delightful place named Monkey Butt Mine and includes a piece of concept art of said location (below.)

Interplay has also reaffirmed that those who signed up to the site are "on the fast-track for beta-testing."

taigi reikalai su fallout Online juda i prieki.galima regintis ir laukti jau beta versijos testavimo.galbut neuzilgo.o viskas del to kad na negalejo issiaiskint kam priklauso teises i Fallout, na Interplay priklauso Fallout 1,2 bei Fallout Tactics.ir butent i sju tikiuosi labai idomaus naujo Fallout Online.

Fallout Online Launching in Late 2012

Nuotrauka

With tons of gamers around the country immersed in Fallout: New Vegas, it makes sense that Interplay would choose this time to remind everyone that Fallout Online, their MMO set in the Fallout universe, is in fact still in development and on the way. And now we even know when we should be getting a chance to play it.

"We have a beta scheduled for 2012, with the commercial launch in the second half of 2012," said Interplay president Eric Caen to Edge magazine (via Eurogamer). While the launch window is new, we've known about the intended beta since the Fallout Online website launched back in June. Still, it's nice to see those plans haven't changed.

As for why Fallout Online has been so under-the-radar, Caen said it's partly due to the legal battle Interplay has been locked in over the game with Fallout license-owner Bethesda, as "anything we show will help Bethesda in their fight." Caen did at least reveal a few details, though. "We have 90 people working on it. Even in January 2009, you were already able to move across the world," he explained.

Caen also compared what Interplay is doing with Fallout Online to Bethesda's Fallout 3. "Fallout 3 was a little bit too serious -- that's definitely not where we're going," he said. "Our Fallout MMOG will be extremely funny. At the same time, an MMOG must be a lot deeper than a standalone game. It's not a shooting game we're making. You can shoot, but it's a very small portion of the game. The game itself is about reconstructing the world."

Long-in development MMO Fallout Online will launch in the second half of 2012, Interplay has promised.

In an interview with Edge magazine Interplay president Eric Caen said 2012 will also see a Fallout Online beta.

Caen's comments will no doubt reassure fans troubled by the legal dispute between Interplay and Fallout 3 creator Bethesda over the game.

As the tussle continues, we've still not seen an actual screenshot or video from Fallout Online.

The company has so far refrained from showing much from the game because "anything we show will help Bethesda in their fight", Caen said.

"I can't say too much. What I can say is that everyone who is registered is getting a newsletter every five or six weeks.

"The content is not a typical newsletter with a lot of technical information; it's letters from NPCs about what they're experiencing. We're giving a lot of hints about the future of the game. We have a beta scheduled for 2012, with the commercial launch in the second half of 2012.

"We have 90 people working on it. Even in January 2009, you were already able to move across the world." Caen also commented on Bethesda's Fallout 3.

"What I can say is that of course we're playing what Bethesda is doing. We appreciate some portions of it, and we're not necessarily fans of everything. I think they miss a lot of the humour, and the fans seem to agree with that.

"Fallout 3 was a little bit too serious – that's definitely not where we're going. Our Fallout MMOG will be extremely funny. At the same time, an MMOG must be a lot deeper than a standalone game. It's not a shooting game we're making. You can shoot, but it's a very small portion of the game. The game itself is about reconstructing the world.

"What is unique about our project is how we're trying to get it into many communication systems. This is a big problem for World of Warcraft, because the fantasy universe is not compatible with modern communication systems. It would be odd to receive an SMS from a troll. But in a post-apocalyptic world..."

Interplay plans to have a million subscribers, Caen revealed.

For over a year now, two companies have slugged it out in the courts, battling over the past - and in some cases future - of the Fallout franchise. This month, that battle took a slightly ridiculous turn.

Bethesda — who published both Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas, and who also own the rights to the franchise — claims that Interplay, the former owners of the brand, are violating all kinds of agreements with their development of a Fallout massively-multiplayer game.

Specifically, Bethesda believes that when Interplay was allowed to begin development of the Fallout MMO all the way back in 2007, all it was allowed to use was the name "Fallout" itself. That's it. No character art, no characters, nothing already established as an element of the Fallout universe, because Bethesda owns all that stuff.

ne tai Bethesda gal debilai visai. patys leido Interplay kurt Fallout ,nes na be Interplay tai zaidimas neegzistuotu isvis. ir jie leido naudot tik varda ,daugiau nieko. ne cia tai tikrai FTW! .. :) na jei Interplay turi visas teises i Fallout 1,2 ,tai jie gali naudot ka nori is tu daliu tada,na tai yra ju zaidimai. o kadangi pats Faloout prasidejo nuo to ,reiskia Interplay gali kaip ir kurt kaip jie nori ir naudot tiek ginklus ,tiek art stiliu is Fallout1,2.

To effectuate the transfer of the Fallout Intellectual Property to Bethesda, Interplay assigned all trademarks and copyrights associated with the Fallout games to Bethesda as part of the APA. Specifically, Interplay transferred to Bethesda the following copyrights and trademarks:

Copyrights:

* The Fallout Logo

* Fallout and Fallout 2 Character Art

* Weapon and Item Art

* Cutscene Art

* Interface Art

* Loading Screen Comic Cart

* Loading Screen 3D Art
