Famitsu revealed another Sting game this week and since it’s not tied to Dept. Heaven it’s bound to get less attention. Hexyz Force is a PSP game set in a brand new world torn between light and dark.

Priestess Cecilia leads the light side and sword master Revenant is in charge of the dark legion. The world’s balance changes depending on your actions. One of the early choices you have is picking which characters you want to side with. You actually play both sides, but the order determines what happens to the world. Ultimately, your decisions will affect the ending of the game when the two groups unite.

Hexyz Force has a command battle system with three characters and three rows. You place party members in the front, middle or rear which alters the amount of damage they take. When the force burst meter fills up you can do flashy special techniques to defeat monsters and reap force points, used to power up weapons and skills, faster.

Hexyz Force is slated to come out in Japan on November 12 with Atlus as the publisher. Since Hexyz Force isn’t a based on an established series it’s cheaper than Yggdra Unison. This game costs 5,229 yen ($56) while a copy of Yggdra Unison runs for 6,279 yen ($67).

Looks like Atlus detected some potential in the PSP, probably due to the upcoming release of the PSPGo. Right after the announcement of Persona 3 Portable they just unveiled a new JRPG scheduled to be released (in Japan) on November the 12th on Sony's portable console.

The new game, named Hexyz Force and developed by Sting Entertainment (the creators of Yggdra Union, Knights in the Nightmare, Dokapon and Baroque) will be set in a world split in two by an ancient war between the Goddes of Creation and the God of Destruction: The results of such a divide are the Land of Light and the Land of Darkness.

Many centuries have passed since then, and now the world knows peace and prosperity, but signs of the awakening of the God of Destruction are starting to threathen that peace.

Cecilia, a shrine maiden in the Land of Light is performing her daily duties when the temple is attacked by demons led by a mysterious man wearing a jet black armor. As the fact that the objective of the attack is Cecilia's life becomes evident, she's forced to flee, departing for an adventure that will interwine with the fate of Levant, a young soldier hailing from the Land of Darkness.

This JRPG, featuring full cel shaded 3D gameplay and high quality anime cutscenes, has a quite interesting feature: the story will unfold from two different and alternating point of views, that of Cecilia and that of Levant. Both characters will lead their own separate parties, but their travels will often bring them to meet and influence each other.

Hexyz Force: 2-in-1 RPG Epic Coming To PSP This Week In The US

Atlus U.S.A., Inc. today ended an unprecedented drought of major new releases with this week’s launch of Hexyz Force, a 2-in-1 RPG epic for the PSP system. The game’s vibrant graphics, solid battle mechanics, and gorgeous anime cutscenes all complement its biggest feature: the ability to play through a lengthy, satisfying narrative as one of two different protagonist, each with their own origin and each taking their own path through the world of Berge.

Built from the ground up to take full advantage of the power of PSP system, extensively optimized to deliver virtually non-existent load times, and boasting some of the most polished visuals and sounds found to date in a handheld RPG, Hexyz Force is the consummate gamer’s game, the kind of experience and final package genre fans would make if they could call the shots.

Hexyz Force releases to retailers this week and is also currently available via PlayStation Store with an MSRP of $29.99.

Key Features:

* Two-sided fantasy adventure-A rich fantasy tale told in two wholly separate yet intricately intertwined parts. Play as Cecilia, a young cleric, or as Levant, an elite knight, as they unravel the mysteries of their world’s impending destruction. Each side of the story takes approximately 25-30 hours to complete, for a total of 50 hours of engaging RPG play.

* Smooth and Streamlined-Get caught in the fun of RPGs, not the hassles. An extraordinary level of polish provides players with quick, stress-free battles, flexible strategy, and virtually no load times with a special option that allows players to install the game from UMD onto a Memory Stick.
