Overview Tekken 6 (not to be confused with the console versions of the game's update) is a 3D fighting game developed and released by Namco for arcades (using PS3-based Namco System 357 hardware) exclusively in Japan on November 26, 2007.
The sixth main installment of the Tekken series, Tekken 6 revamps the series' graphics and animation while introducing larger multi-tiered destructible arenas and two new gameplay mechanics: the "bound" system (where performing certain moves while juggling cause the opponent to bounce on the floor for additional combo potential) and the "rage" system (a catch-up mechanic where players' attacks deal additional damage on low vitality). Character customization has also been enhanced, with certain items (such as weapons) granting new attacks.
The story is set sometime after the events of Tekken 5, where Jin Kazama defeats Jinpachi Mishima and becomes the new head of the Mishima Zaibatsu. After increased political tension, Jin uses the company's resources to both turn the Zaibatsu into a powerful independent nation and declare war on all other nations. When his father, Kazuya Mishima, who now leads the opposing G Corporation, puts a bounty on his head, Jin forms the sixth King of Iron Fist Tournament to lure Kazuya out.
The game later received an enhanced re-release, titled Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion, on December 18, 2008. This version was later ported to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Portable, all of which were released worldwide.
Story Jin saluting his army during Tekken 6's CG intro At the conclusion of The King of Iron Fist Tournament 5 (Tekken 5), Jin Kazama defeated his great grandfather and tournament sponsor Jinpachi Mishima and won the tournament, as well its its grand prize - the Mishima Zaibatsu. Jin immediately changed the direction of the company, beginning various programs within the company and converted the Tekken Force into a spy project. People began suspecting darkness in the president of the Mishima Zaibatsu, which lead to increased tension, fighting and eventually a full-scale war, with the entire world drawn in. With nations beginning to lose power, war became a profitable option for the Mishima Zaibatsu, which lead to Jin announcing the Zaibatsu as an independent nation, declaring war on the entire world.
Initially, the Mishima Zaibatsu proved to be a formidable enemy, but then G Corporation, lead by Jin's father Kazuya, rose to become the Zaibatsu's main opposition. The world saw G Corporation as its savior, and endorsed them completely in their attempt to suppress the Zaibatsu. G Corporation claimed that the president of the Mishima Zaibatsu was the root cause of the war, and announced that they will pay an immense amount of money to anyone who can capture Jin Kazama dead or alive. G Corporation's current CEO and chairman, Kazuya Mishima, took over the company after killing those within it who betrayed him just after The King of Iron Fist Tournament 4. As if the Mishima Zaibatsu anticipated this move, the Mishima Zaibatsu announced the opening of The King of Iron Fist Tournament 6.
Characters New Additions Zafina - A mysterious astrologist who was born to a group of spiritual warriors in the Middle East, becoming the tribe's sole assassin and protector of an ancient tomb. When she receives a dire prophecy about the tomb's unsealing, she enters the tournament in hopes of preventing it.Miguel Caballero Rojo - Spanish wanderer who trusted no-one except his kind-hearted sister. After his sister's death during her wedding by an air raid, Miguel enters the tournament to seek vengeance against those responsible for the bombing raid: the Mishima Zaibatsu.Leo Kliesen - German speleogist and the gender-ambiguous orphan of a world-famous spelunker and an executive of the G Corporation, taking matters into their own hands after the police inconclusively ends the murder investigation of their mother. Linking the death of their mother to Kazuya Mishima, they enter the tournament to find the truth.Bob - American karate expert whose inability to defeat larger opponents drove him to build up his slim physique.
