Misleading Marketing

Team Ninja created this release without input or approval from Tomonobu Itagaki, the original director of the game developed for Xbox 360 exclusively. The decision to use the roman numerals from the title of the 360 game as well the reference to Ninja Gaiden Black has been controversial among consumers who were expecting it to be a graphically enhanced port of the 360 game. Instead it is the very different (and much maligned) Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 without the censorship seen in Sigma releases. It is also an incomplete version of Sigma 2, lacking content added for previous ports.
