Overview Parappa and Lammy are here along with dozens of other PlayStation icons. After a critically acclaimed PlayStation VR game (Astro Bot Rescue Mission) and a beloved, bite-size tech demo that came with every PlayStation 5 (Astro's Playroom), Team Asobi spent several years developing a full-fledged 3D platforming adventure featuring the robot who has become PlayStation's mascot.
While Astro's Playroom was a celebration of all of the hardware and accessories that PlayStation has released over the years, this game is a celebration of the characters and games have defined the 30-year history of the console manufacturer. Over 175 characters (in bot form) from over 100 franchises appear to assist Astro Bot in this galactic adventure.
Story Get on the spaceship, boy. After the construction of the PlayStation 5 rocket ship, Astro Bot and his robot pals are flying through space when they are attacked by a giant green alien in a flying saucer. Pieces of the PS5 ship are scattered among dozens of planets across multiple galaxies. Not only that, but all of Astro Bot's friends have also been strewn about. So, it's up to Astro Bot to rescue his friends (many of whom are PlayStation icons), gather the lost parts of the PS5 ship, and stop the alien threat for good.
