Overview
Life is Strange: True Colors is an adventure game developed by Deck Nine Games and published by Square Enix. It was first released on September 10, 2021, for PC, Google Stadia, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, and PS5. A version for Nintendo Switch was later released on December 7, 2021.
It is the fifth game in the series, and unlike previous games, was released as a full game, as opposed to being episodic.
Story
The game follows Alex Chen, who has left the foster care system, to reunite with her older brother in Haven Springs, Colorado. While there, she explores her supernatural ability to see peoples' emotions as an aura, and take on those emotions herself, in order to help people around the town. After a tragic event hits the town, Alex decides to use her powers to find out exactly what happened.
Gameplay
Life is Strange: True Colors is a third-person adventure game. The game is centered around moving the character around the environment, observing items, talking to NPCs through dialogue trees and making choices in order to progress the game. The player can use Alex's supernatural ability to read peoples' thoughts and emotion to receive additional pieces of dialogue.
Soundtrack
The soundtrack for the game is comprised of a mix of original music composed by folk music group Angus and Julia Stone, as well as licensed music, some of which is performed by singer mxmtoom who provides the singing voice for Alex Chen in the game.
